GTI Head of Advancement: Margaret Geraldine Farred

We are pleased to share the good news that Mrs Margaret Geraldine Farred was appointed to serve as the Global Teachers Institute’s Head of Advancement (Fundraising and Communications) from 1 August 2021.

WhatsApp Image 2021-08-04 at 09.12.28Margaret brings extensive experience of more than 25 years of working in the non-profit sector, most of which has been dedicated to extending access to quality education for economically and historically disadvantaged South Africans, including people with disabilities. She was most recently employed as the Business Relations Manager at Midlands Community College in Nottingham Road, KwaZulu-Natal, where she was responsible for building and nurturing relationships with donors and partners. Cumulatively, Margaret has more than ten years of experience as a fundraiser.

She holds a MA Degree in Gender Studies from the University of the Free State. She has also worked as an online tutor and marker in the English Department at UNISA. Margaret is proud to come from a family of more than 20 teachers. Her hobbies include gardening, crafts and cooking. She is married with two sons.
