Partnerships
At Global Teachers Institute, we believe collaboration is the key to systemic change. Our partnerships bring together government bodies, educational institutions, corporate and international sponsors and organizations to address South Africa’s education challenges. Through initiatives like the Future Leaders Programme and collaborative events such as the AXIS Summit, we create meaningful, lasting impact in underserved schools.
Together with our partners, we’re amplifying efforts to uplift public, township, and rural education, enhancing opportunities for social justice and economic progress. Partnering with us means being part of a mission to shape the future, one educator, one classroom, and one community at a time.
In the context of a sustainable public-private partnership (PPP) with the South African government, local and international donors and other partners, the programme supports distance education B.Ed. students with a comprehensive, practical ‘wrap-around support’, including professional development and mentorship from experienced teachers.
Funders
Global Teachers Institute’s impact ecosystem offers funders the chance to be part of systemic, meaningful change where it’s needed most in South African education. We believe that access to quality education for every learner is the bedrock of both individual and collective progress. Establishing a high standard for educators is essential, as they are not just teachers – they are mentors, leaders, and architects of future generations across every industry and profession.
Partners
In partnering with Global Teachers Institute, you’ll gain both visibility and credibility. Our growing reputation for creating impactful change in South African education opens doors in the provinces we are active in, and elevates the profile of organisations that work alongside us. As advocates for quality education, we add significant value to partner programs, endorsing their work as part of our mission to raise the bar of education in under-resourced communities.
Government
Global Teachers Institute supports government’s efforts to uplift and reform education by addressing the crisis in underserved schools, ensuring access to quality education, and building the foundation for a stronger workforce and economy. Through our impact ecosystem, we are creating solutions that, in partnership with government initiatives, are helping stabilise and improve education in public, township, and rural schools. This collaborative approach amplifies government’s ability to effect long-term change in education and contribute to social mobility and economic progress in our country.
Higher Education Institutions
Through Global Teachers Institute’s flagship Future Leaders Programme, students from UNISA, UJ, (and North-West University) are part of our mission of elevating the quality and accessibility of education, particularly in South Africa’s most underserved communities. By bridging theory and practice, we are offering these Future Leaders wrap-around support that equips them to meet the real-world demands of the classroom and create meaningful change where it’s needed most.
Global Teachers Institute is also a key advocate for setting national standards in teacher qualifications, working to establish minimum requirements that ensure every educator is prepared to make a measurable impact.
Host Schools
Partnering with Global Teachers Institute goes beyond the direct benefit to Future Leaders; it creates a ripple effect that uplifts the entire schooling environment. In mentoring our Future Leaders, seasoned teachers themselves gain fresh insights and approaches, strengthening their own skills in the process. This mutual exchange helps mentors become even more effective teachers and leaders, enriching the entire school community.
