#GTIMandela100 Competition

As our first Global Teachers Society activity, we are thrilled to launch the #GTIMandela100 competition in partnership with the Global Citizens. Only Global Teachers Society members will have an exclusive chance to win tickets for the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg on 2nd December 2018.


The Festival will feature a range of top international artists headlined by Beyonce and Jay-Z. Global Citizen is building a movement to end extreme poverty by 2030 and we believe that fighting for education and supporting our teachers is critical.

We are calling on students, teachers and members of education non-profits who wish to align themselves with the goal of ending extreme poverty to enter the competition and demonstrate your commitment by either designing a lesson or creating an out of classroom activity for your learners that will encourage them to build a just, equal and inclusive world.


  1. Entry to the competition is restricted to Global Teachers Society members only.
  2. Entry to the competition is restricted to one entry per member. Multiple entries will be disqualified.
  3. Competition is open to South African residents only.
  4. Winners will be contacted via the email and cell number you provide.
  5. The Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
  6. You may enter the competition from 28 August 2018 until midnight 17 September 2018.
  7. You will be required to as part of your entry to supply documentation, photos, and video of your lesson or activity by no later than midnight 26 September.  You will be sent an email detailing all the submission requirements once you have entered.
  8. Winners will agree to their names and details of their lesson or activity be made public on GTI’s website and social media.
  9. The Global Teachers Society will not pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent.

Please note: The prize includes tickets for entry into the Festival only. Should you win, you will be responsible for your own travel and accommodation to the Festival (if you live outside Johannesburg). Click on the button to enter the competition now.


Global Citizen will give 70% of the tickets for the Global Citizen Festival out for free for those that take action in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. You can simply download the Global Citizen App to learn more about other ways to participate and learn about these critical issues.
