MANDELA DAY FOOD CAN MOSAIC

The Mandela Day food can mNelson-Mandela-Day-Logoosaic is an annual event organised by the LEAP Maths & Science Schools in partnership with the Global Teachers Institute, Rhodes Food Group and the Hyprop Foundation where learners, teachers, shoppers and staff come together to build a mosaic commemorating Madiba’s life and legacy out of Rhodes foods cans.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic resulting in South Africa experiencing a nation-wide lockdown with gatherings prohibited, we are taking the food can building online. Corporates and individuals will be able to celebrate the spirit of the day and raise much-needed funds for education by donating to place a “virtual food can” on the online Nelson Mandela Day mosaic activation from 1 – 18 July 2020.

This is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world and the ability to make an impact. Mandela has fought for social justice for 67 years and we are asking you to start with a minimum donation of R67, as we build towards a virtual Mandela Day.

Over the next 18 days, with each donation we receive, the mosaic will build up with a picture of Nelson Mandela and as thanks for your donation, you will also receive a free ticket to our Nelson Mandela Day online concert with Jarrad Ricketts.

Take action and inspire change. Act against poverty! See you at the concert!
